Supported Living

Our Supported Living Services

The Supported Living Service is designed for adults with learning disability and / or a mental health diagnosis. The age range of people who can access our service is 18 years and over.

The service users will have their own tenancy in a shared accommodation whereby they will be empowered to exercise their choice to enhance their daily living skills.

How we support tenants

The ways in which we support tenants may include providing advice, prompting or assistance with:

  • Correspondence related to their tenancy.
  • Budgeting, paying household bills, and claiming appropriate benefits.
  • Meal planning, shopping and cooking.
  • Domestic upkeep of their tenancy.
  • Maintaining the security and safety of the property.
  • Opportunities for employment or voluntary work.
  • Opportunities for education and leisure.
  • Registering with GP and dentist or their choice and maintaining links with appropriate healthcare services.
  • Taking any prescribed medication.
  • Responding to their changing needs in liaison with other agencies involved in their support and care.
  • Maintaining / developing community links and relationships.
  • Help to make rooms more personal by individuals bringing in, where practical, items of furniture and other effects.

Facilities

We provide:

  • adequate car parking for visitors
  • a personal laundry facility and laundry service
  • help for people who wish to follow their religion by putting them in touch with local faith leaders and institutions, etc.

Quality assurance

To ensure good quality within the home:

  • we involve the residents and their relatives in the development of the home by consulting them and keeping them fully informed of changes, including monthly meetings
  • we regularly seek their opinions on the quality of the services we offer so that we can on improving them
  • the managers keep a close eye on what is happening in the home
  • we provide staff with regular supervision and training
  • we take all complaints seriously and try to do something about them
  • all residents and relatives know about their right to make a formal complaint and how the complaints procedure works
  • We have a duty of candor to always let you know that if we make mistakes over any part of your care we will let you know and how we have or will put matters right.
